Let’s go for a squid fish
76x91cm, mixed media on canvas, unframed
It comes out of that late arvo lull by the water, when everything slows and the light starts to drop. Camping with your mates, a couple of drinks in, gear set and waiting. The painting came together more from memory than plan. Salt air, background chatter, the clink of bottles, and that subtle turn into dusk when the water darkens and you just know it is time. It is not really about the catch it is about that shared moment with your friends, the anticipation, and being completely in it.
