Hidden in the Heat is a significant work within my practice, not only because of what it represents, but because of what it has become. This is the painting that truly put me on the map as an artist. Since sharing it, it has become my most requested artwork, resonating with collectors across Australia and beyond.

The artwork captures the feeling of summer and the underlying heat of the day. The kind of memory that remains long after the details have faded. Like much of my work, it is painted through the lens of memory rather than reality, using symbolic objects, layered mark-making and vibrant colour to evoke emotion rather than document a specific moment.

Due to overwhelming demand, Hidden in the Heat was released as a limited-edition print series. With only 20 editions available in each size, the print release is now more than 90% sold out. Despite countless enquiries over the years, I have never released the original painting for sale.

As a result, this is a rare opportunity to acquire the original artwork that introduced many collectors to my work and became one of the defining pieces of my career. While prints have allowed the image to reach a wider audience, there is only one original. The layers, texture, hand drawn details and energy of the painting can only be experienced in the piece itself.
