She always wanted to see giraffes in the wild. When she finally got there beneath the brightest blue skies, watching them move quietly through the landscape with their calves something shifted. This was the trip she took when she needed to remember that there was still beauty in the world. She stood in the warm light and looked out across golden plains and, for the first time in a long time, she didn't think about her diagnosis. She thought about how lucky she was to be exactly there. This painting has found its home.
